I'm Lissa Lumutenga, CFP®, AFC®
As the daughter of Filipino immigrants who embraced the American dream, I was taught how to work hard, but not how to build wealth. My parents’ stories of coming to the United States with $20 in their pockets inspired my work ethic. But their lack of access to financial knowledge beyond the basics trickled down to me.
The more money I made, the more I learned the financial world wasn’t built for people like me. Society had conditioned me to accept trading my time for money to make other people wealthy. Society didn’t teach me to acquire assets, use leverage, build multiple streams of income, or invest. Society didn’t expose me to wealth building.
I had to proactively seek it -- and now I want to help more people like me build wealth.
